Yesterday I was able to get out and cover another full block. No sure of the step count but more doors were opened. More neighbors met.
Today is the Annual FMGG Fall Fest at the Monastery and I couldn’t be more excited about this for one really specific reason: the honey.
Have you had the chance to grab (purchase) the honey they extract from the hives in the back of the Monastery Garden?!! That deserved a double !! for emphasis. Don’t let this year pass you by. The benefits are legendary. Everything from allergies to sore throats. Aside from that, it just tastes mighty good.
I’ve helped them extract honey in the past. It’s a sticky job. Literally.
I feel so fortunate to live in an area where I can walk to the Franciscan Monastery, meander through the gardens and enjoy fresh Brookland hyper-local honey from bees – that also live and work in Brookland.
I’ll be at the Fall Fest today for a few hours if you want to come by to meet me and ask me questions about why I’m running for ANC and get to know me a bit more. I’ll likely be holding a jar of honey.
